A Letter from CBSC - Fall 2023

A Letter from the Clifton Beach Social Club Regarding Fundraising

Many of you have received our recent invitation to the Clifton Beach Fall Fundraiser event which will be held on Friday, September 29th. This event will provide a wonderful opportunity for neighbors and Clifton Club members to gather and enjoy wonderful food, live music and, most importantly, time with fellow beach community members. We also have a wonderful selection of Silent Auction items for you to bid on during the event.

As residents and beach members we all treasure how unique and precious our beach community is. It is in this context that we would like to share an understanding of what it takes to sustain our beach, our beach house, as well as the playground and boardwalks that we all enjoy. For decades fundraising activities took place annually with financial goals ranging from several hundred to over $20K for the purpose of making improvements to our beach community. The last significant fundraising activity was held in approximately 2012.

There are many new families in our community who may not be aware of the tremendous fundraising efforts of past years. The original fundraising group was put in place to support and supplement the funds collected by the Trust, whose annual due collections have usage limited to maintenance projects. Projects historically funded by our additional fundraising efforts include, but are not limited to, a variety of beach house improvements, the beach house bathroom remodel, landscaping projects, beach Adirondack chairs, fire pits, pickleball equipment, playground improvements and much more.

Over the past decade we have all watched the slow decline of our beach assets. Our small social events group has worked tirelessly to gain support by offering social activities with small fundraising goals. As time passes the need for significant fundraising continues to grow. Without the involvement and participation from our community we are at risk of continued structural and asset decline. We are, at this time, asking you to please consider participation in our fundraising efforts.

How can you get involved? Please consider joining us for this upcoming event. We have many ideas for future projects and we hope to share those ideas with you soon. Engagement in our community can be a great way to grow as a healthy community while improving our beach in ways where we can all benefit. You can find a copy of our event invitation here.
